Do organic animals get sick and if so, what does that farmer or rancher use to treat the animal?

If an animal that is being raised for food using organic production practices becomes sick, the farmer/rancher will do what they can to make the animal healthy, first utilizing natural remedies. If these remedies are ineffective, then it may be given medical treatment including antibiotics if appropriate for the illness. Once an animal is treated with antibiotics, it cannot be sold as organic. These animals are simply separated from the non-antibiotic group, treated and then marketed as conventional products following proper withdrawal times.
